Universidade de Vigo is a young university located in the Pontevedra Province in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula, southern Galicia, Spain. It was a satellite campus of Universidad Santiago de Compostela before it became fully independent in 1990

The institution is referred to as the most technical university in Galicia because of the engineering degrees it offers. UVigo is a very experienced institution in the management of EU education-funded projects as it has participated in more than 80 of them
